Competition Team Info
Dear Parents and Dancers,
Welcome to the Norwalk Dance Center STARS competition team, where dancing is fun and every student is a STAR! We love dance, but more importantly we love to teach dance. Our mission is to bring out the inner star in every child by building a strong self esteem and having fun. Our NDC STARS competition team is for those dancers who wish to make a special commitment to their dance education.
As we are about to begin the upcoming dance season, we would like to provide you with answers to many of your questions about the purpose of our competition teams, the commitment involved, fees and any other questions you may have. Being a member of a competition team requires dancers to abide by an attendance policy, attend mandatory classes, participate in any required extra practices and participate in competitions and performances. It takes a strong commitment and dedication on part of our dancers and their families: however it comes with great reward.
Our dancers will receive top instruction from our staff, and will be challenged in all levels to achieve their greatest potential. They will learn to be comfortable and confident while performing on stage in front of all types of audiences, learn the importance of team work, and will have a lot of fun in the process! We encourage all our dancers who are ready for this commitment to consider being a part of our competition team!
Commitment
NDC dance/cheer team members are asked to commit to the following
- One year commitment (July - July) and perform ALL scheduled competitions/performances.
- Attend ALL mandatory classes for your age/skill level.
- Check your emails daily for updated information about classes, rehearsals, and competitions.
- Follow Studio dress code and use proper etiquette to set an example for other students.
- Have a positive attitude whenever in the studio or attending other studio functions
- Act professional and show good sportsmanship in the studio and at all competitions
- Show mutual respect towards all other dancers, teachers, parents and office staff while at the studio or at any NDC function.
- Have fun and always dance your best! That is how you will improve!
Dance Teams
Apprentice- Age 5 & up- Open to any student interested in competition with little dance experience
Jr.-6 & up- Must have at least 2 year of dance experience- Teacher Approval Only
Sr.-Teacher Approval Only
Teams are for those students ages 6 & up. Dancers will be placed onto a team according to skill level by an instructor. We will also have an apprentice team that will be for those students 5 & up who are young and/or inexperienced and are interested in competition dance.
DanceStar Competition Team Fee's
$150.00 Competition Team Fee- October 10th
- Monthly tuition: $137.00 Unlimited classes- 10th of every month
- General Entrance fees per competition (per number) are: These fees are not NDC fees. They are set per competition and will be due 1 to 2 months before the competition.
- o $75.00 solo
- o $85.00 duo/trio
- o $30.00 each student for groups
- Costumes
- o $65.00-$85.00 per costume- November 10th
CheerStar Competition Team Fee's
