Policies
Children must be escorted in and out of the studio before and after class. No children at any time are permitted in the parking lot without adult supervision. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
- Please keep noise to a minimum in the studio and waiting room areas while classes are in progress.
- Please do not open the door to the classroom while class is in session. Doing this interrupts class time and is extremely distracting to young dancers. If you need assistance please talk to the secretary or knock on the door first. Thank you.
Class arrivals
- For respect of all students and instructors each class must start on time.
- All students must be dressed in proper dance attire and proper shoes 5 minutes before class starts.
- The studio door will open 10 minutes before the first class of the day.
Payments
- Payments are due by the 1st of every month, unless arrangements are made otherwise in advance.
- There is a $10.00 late fee for any payment made after the 10th day of month.
- Number of class weeks varies from month to month. Payments are based on a 36 week dance year from September to June.
- Tuition payments are divided into nine monthly payments.
- There will be a $20.00 Return Check fee
- Only cash will be accepted after a check has been returned
Parent Concerns or Comments
- It is very important for a parent and teacher to work together to reach the child's fullest potential. We encourage communication between teacher and parent. Please feel free to come to us with any questions or concerns.
Water and Snacks
- Water bottles are welcome in class unless they become a distraction.
- Snacks may be eaten in the waiting room. -NO GUM allowed in the class room at anytime.
No Destruction of property
- Parents are responsible for your children's behavior at all times. If there is any destruction of property, you the parent will be held responsible for any damages to the property damaged by your child.
Attendance
- In order to progress as a dancer regular attendance is encouraged. Teachers reserve the right to withhold a child from the spring recital if irregular attendance inhibits the child from learning the recital routine.
Dress Code: Dress code must be made followed at all times for the safety of the dancer
- All female dancers must wear a leotard and tights.
Male dancers may wear gym shorts and a tucked in t-shirt. - Long hair must be pulled back in pony tail or bun and short hair must be pulled back with headband/hair clip.
- Warm ups and leg warmers may be worn but must be removed at teacher request.
- Ballet skirts may be worn but must be removed for Acrobatics classes.
- Dance shoes may not be worn as street shoes and a cover up should be worn to and from the dance center.
- Jewelry should not be worn in dance class. Small stud earrings only are permitted.
- Teachers may refuse participation in class if dress code is not followed
Cleanliness of the Studio
- All students and parents are required to pick up after themselves and to leave the waiting room, dressing room, studio and restroom neat and orderly. Toys and books should be returned to proper place.
Norwalk Dance Center, LLC is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Do not bring valuables to the studio.
Manners for Dancers in the classroom:
We want our dancers to have fun in dance class. But.....dancers can have fun AND manners all at the same time! Here are the manners we expect from our dancers:
1. Keep hands to themselves at all times
2. Not to disrupt class with excessive talking- We encourage interaction between students and teachers without disrupting classes
3. Listen when the teacher speaks & gives corrections
4. Wait quietly for others to have a turn in class
5. Never to practice Acrobatic tricks unless instructed to do so by teacher
6. Dress properly for class
7. No throwing or mistreatment of class room props (All classroom props are property of the studio)
8. Exit and Enter class quietly while class is in session
9. No running through the studio or hang on the Ballet Barre
10. Students must not enter the classroom until teachers call them into class.
11. All students must respect Teachers, Staff, Other Students, Parents and the Studio itself (Equipment, Merchandise, Books, Toys, etc.) at all times. Behaviors that will not be tolerated are: Disrespectfulness, Aggression, Destruction of Property, Using Hurtful Words or Actions towards other dancers or teachers, etc.

**All students must have hair pulled back in pony tail for long hair & in head band for short hair
